Cal Grants are a state funded grant that is available to eligible California residents who complete a or , for AB540 eligible students, by March 2 for the next academic year. Students may qualify on the basis of merit, financial need, and/or vocational program. Funding for the Cal Grant is limited.
The California Chafee Grant Program provides financial assistance to current and former foster youth to use towards vocational training or a degree program. Students are awarded up to $2,250 each semester. A student's receipt of a Chafee Grant award shall not exceed five years (whether or not consecutive) and is not guaranteed, due to limited funding.

The Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG) is a supplemental grant that provides additional funding for Cal Grant B or C recipients attending a California Community College full-time (enrolled in 12 or more units for a primary term). Funding for SSCG is limited, particularly during the spring semester. We prioritize awarding this grant to students with the highest unmet need based on their financial aid file.
The Federal Work-Study (FWS) program provides eligible students with the opportunity for part time employment to help pay for education expenses. The program allows for on-campus or community-service employment. Funding for the Federal Work Study program is limited, and eligibility is not a guarantee of employment.
