Chris Lee was an alumnus of ĢƵ and was a former testing proctor in the campus’ testing center. He was also a member of the Exchange Club since 2010 and was involved in many aspects of the organization.
Chris is remembered for his soft-spoken, kind manner and eagerness to assist.
Dr. Stephen Rochford, Professor of Music and Director of the ĢƵ Instrumental Music Area (IMA) from 1990 until his retirement in 2017. He conducted the Wind Symphony for 27 years, founded and conducted the Symphony Orchestra for 9 years, and managed all aspects of the IMA program. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Rochford was an avid fundraiser.
Te’Veannah Smith, known by many as “T”, was an advocate for diversity, equity, and social justice issues on ĢƵ's campus and beyond. Her involvement with ASĢƵ leadership and her vibrant presence in the classroom enriched our campus. This scholarship enables ĢƵ students to continue her commitment to social change.
Nicole Joy Ledina was a compassionate, energetic, and driven honors student at ĢƵ. She believed in using her gifts to serve others and that intentional acts of kindness could have a positive change in the world. For Nicole, her gifts were music and a big heart. With these gifts, she aspired to provide real comfort, hope, and healing to those experiencing adversity and inspired others to do the same.
At ĢƵ, we are proud to serve some of the most resilient students on our campus, parenting students in the EOPS, CARE, CalWORKs, NextUp, and Guardian Scholars Programs. These remarkable individuals are not only pursuing their education but are also the sole providers for their families, working tirelessly to break generational cycles and build brighter futures for themselves and their children.
