The University of California at Irvine Master of Professional Accountancy Program (UCI MPAc) and ĢƵ (ĢƵ) have announced a student referral agreement whereby ĢƵ students can use selected ĢƵ accounting courses to meet accounting course prerequisites for the UCI MPAc and to raise awareness of graduate program options at the community college level.
“We are very excited to be offering this program to ĢƵ students,” said Burt Slusher, Director, Recruitment and Admissions at UCI MPAc. “For the past several years, ĢƵ has been the number one transfer school to UCI for undergraduate studies. This program will further raise awareness to ĢƵ students of graduate-level opportunities.”
ĢƵ students who take intermediate accounting, individual or corporate taxation, and/or auditing will be able to use these courses to meet the prerequisite requirements for UCI’s MPAc program. Additionally, as California residents, ĢƵ’s students will automatically receive a $10,000 tuition discount with $5,000 to $10,000 of additional scholarships potentially available.
“We are thrilled to expand transfer pathways for ĢƵ accounting students as this provides additional opportunities for them to pursue their baccalaureate and graduate studies,” says ĢƵ President Dr. John Hernandez. “I believe this educational partnership will lead to additional graduate studies for first generation college students.”
