Check presentation with Cottie Petrie-Norris and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ administrators and students

On November 4, Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris presented Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ with $2.5 million from the California state budget to expand Veterans Services Center and the resources the center. Since 2014, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ’s Veterans Services Center has assisted veterans, active-duty personnel, reservists, and their dependents/spouses with the application for VA educational benefits and their certification process.

For the last nine years, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ has been designated as a Military Friendly School, a standard that measures an organization’s commitment, effort, and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefits for military students. Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ supports a robust military community on campus, with nearly 300 student veterans and dependents annually attending through its Veterans Services Center. This grant will support Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ’s goal of developing a veterans access program to build upon existing skills, identify post-discharge needs, and provide guidance, holistic support, and guidelines for academic success and employment.
